Brauhaus Goldener Schwan in Aachen

I really like their seasoning. Attention was "ok". But the food allows you to forget about it. Recommended!

I always like to come back here. The schnitzel are a bit more expensive, but they are very large portions and you will definitely be full ? I'm looking forward to my next visit.

One star for the location right on Rathausplatz. But if the schnitzel (tested the variant with forest mushrooms) is supposed to be the "highlight", then cheers meal. The schnitzel was cheap frozen bulk goods from the wholesale market, absolutely dry and only briefly warmed up in the oven, the "forest mushrooms" were mushrooms and the French fries were bone dry too. I got everything in chips stalls in much better quality. Plus three different people operating it. Lots of mess. Sorry, pure tourist feeding.

Yesterday we went to the golden swan to have a nice beer. Since we had eaten well there 2 years ago, we ordered a schnitzel with wild mushrooms and a meat loaf with fried potatoes. To be honest, what we were then served was outrageous. The meat loaf too dry, the fried potatoes hard and the salad inedible. Even a chip shop should be ashamed of the "quality". A beer outside with pleasure again, but definitely never again to eat.

It tasted very good here. Nice ambience. Fast / nice service and not overpriced.

Unfortunately, no reputation. As an Aachen native, I was looking forward to puttes (blood sausage). It was "mushy" and not tasty. The Alsatian tarte flambée with raw green spring onions was not Alsatian.

Very very nice and funny staff. The food I had personally was more than delicious. In terms of price, I can't say anything personally. Highly recommend always like that.

Whenever Im in Aachen I visit the Goldener Schwan. It has a big variety of traditional German dishes at very democratic prices. The interior isnt wow but the tasty meals, fast service and atmosphere makes up for it. The flammkuchen are some of the best I ate in Germany.

I had Kaesespaetzle and it was AMAZING! So delicious! Great portion sizes, good cold beer and friendly staff. Highly recommend it if you want authentic scrumptious German food.

Good food and excellent beer

Our favorite place to eat in Aachen when we want some local food. The haxe with sauerkraut and potatoes is great. If you like sweet beer, try their banana beer ??

Fantastic fish & chips! Oh my, so good. Wonderfully cozy atmosphere, I highly recommend this place.

Very quaint restaurant with local specialties - also from Belgium. Rustic heart. View of the market square and the old town hall. Unfortunately many narrow stairs to the upper premises.

A nice place to eat good robust German dishes and have some beers or, as the noticeboard says: a cold frothy soup of hops and barley served in its own glass ?

Excellent food, service and ambience. Your first meal in Aachen has to be here. If you cant make it your first....dont leave the city without calling in.

We were the first to order food around 16u50 but we only got our food around 17u45. We nearly had to wait a hour for a simple shnitzel with some fries. It was very cold inside, people were wearing jackets inside, yet, no single waiter even had a thought to shut the door that was wide open....The waitress asked us about 5 times if everything was alright during dinner. Once will do the trick. 5 times is too much. There are better places to have dinner in Aachen with certainely a shorter waiting time. Don't even get me started about the toilet. A public toilet is even cleaner. The smell in there was just horrible!

Glad I went here, I encountered very friendly staff, and had great beer and food! I had the roasted pork with mashed potatoes and sauerkraut, and it was very tasty.
